History: It was built following WW1 using original kauri timber salvaged from the historic 1880 military barracks on nearby Taiaroa Head.

Activities: Direct access to the excellent swimming beach one minute away. Wonderful scenic coastal walks and drives. Horseriding and sea kayaking available. The famous peninsula wildlife - Royal Albatross, Yellow Eyed Penguins, seals and sea lions, plus Larnach's castle are within a day's activity.
